Dr. Eva Martínez
Mathematician and Data Analyst
What is Datínez?
After my PhD, my next big project consisted on developing my programming skills. I started with R, moved to Python, then to sql (tried many flavours: MySQL, Postgresql, Redshift, …) and back to R, a bit of Javascript… I learned a lot discussing with my colleagues, attending super cool meetups, reading super useful blogs here and there… So Datínez is just me: Data Martínez. It was born by the need of returning the favour to the community. In this way I document my learnings and at the same time I hope they can be helpful for someone learning the same things.
Who am I?
In June 2018 I got a PhD degree in Mathematics from Freie Universität Berlin under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Alexander Schmitt. My PhD was supported by the IRTG GRK 1800 as part of the Berlin Mathematical School. If you are interested on my thesis on Stability of Arakelov bundles over arithmetic curves and Bridgeland stability conditions on holomorphic triples you can download it here. You can also read about my experience as PhD student here.
Before coming to Berlin I did a bachelor degree in Mathematics and a Master degree in Advanced Mathematics at Universitat de Barcelona.
Currently I am a Data Analyst and I love learning about Data Analysis, Statistics, Machine Learning, cool visualizations… So now I will be sharing my learnings here!
